Garland Neighborhood Awards

Every year the City of Garland recognizes the hard work being done across our neighborhoods with a variety of award categories. Neighbors nominate their neighborhoods, neighbors, community newsletters and public servants for recognition. Nominations are due 10 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2023. Winners are announced at the Pre-Summit Mixer on November 9!

Every year, neighborhoods across Garland go the extra mile to create communities that are vibrant, engaged and safe. The Garland Neighborhood of the Year Award allows the City of Garland to recognize one neighborhood who stands out through their neighborhood investment efforts from January to December. Projects and efforts can be either physical or social in nature, but the combination of both is encouraged. 

The Who's Who in Garland Neighborhoods title is awarded to an individual who is a living example of what a "Good Neighbor" is. This person is a leader in their neighborhood and city and strive to create a vibrant, and safe community of equal opportunity. 

Communication among neighbors is vital to strong neighborhoods. Newsletters, E-Newsletters or other publications are great tools to inform, inspire and engage fellow neighbors to join the efforts of neighborhood investment.

The Garland Public Servant Award recognizes a City of Garland employee who exemplifies what it means to be a great public servant, and who goes above and beyond to serve the residents of Garland. This could be a police officer, code inspector, librarian, customer service representative, street crew, or any Garland employee who serves the public. 

Registration

If you are planning on attending the 2023 Neighborhood Summit on Saturday Nov. 11 from 8:30 to noon, simply indicate that you will be also be attending the Pre-Summit Mixer at Intrinsic Smokehouse Brewery in the Summit Registration. If you will only be attending the Garland Neighborhood Awards, please register here. 

The Garland Neighborhood Awards will take place during the Pre-Summit Mixer on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Intrinsic Smokehouse Brewery located at 509 W State St, Garland, TX 75040.
